This is Lingalog web site. It main goal is to provide some sources to learn languages joining native speakers from different languages. These native speakers can practice each other's foreign languages through the creation and management of projects.

Lingalog is focuss on a practical and commun distance work using intercomprehension between two or more languages.

This experience started in 2005 in the Language Centre at the University Lumiere Lyon 2, in France. Nowadays this site is in its version 4 which means that is in constant evolution thanks to the participation and recommendations from its users as well as the research work done on this site.

Here are Lingalog's 2 main goals:

  • Allowing to progress in the languages users learn in an institutional framework and,
  • creating and reinforcing links among universities for student's interchanges and for an online pedagogical work.

It's inside an interlinguistic and intercultural dialogue that lays the real formatrice ambition of Lingalog: to promote a debate, ideas interchange, to share points of view, to respect the others thougths, to be rationnal in the way to express oneself, to meet among different people and all that for promoting language learning ethic and humanist framework.

Lingalog users can communicate participating in at least one of these four activities:

Technological tools available in Lingalog:

  • our wiki (Dokuwiki): Home, personal pages, pages collectives, resources, sharing files, informations, formulaires, comments, etc.
  • forum (phpBB): dialogue public, ou restreint à certains groupes
  • e-mail internal system (phpBB): dialogue with teachers, e-tandem interchanges, teamwork interchanges, users interchanges
  • le chat (AJAX Chat): instant dialogue, teamwork discussions, CALL learning
  • groupware (Horde) : e-mail, notes, tasks, agenda, addresses.
